What comes to your mind when you think of fall? I would think of lying on the couch, drinking hot chocolate and reading a really good book, while the trees slowly turn from the wonderful greens into the intriguing shades of red, orange and yellow. Well they do turn brown eventually, but let’s just forget that part, shall we?

As always this year’s color palette is dominated by earth tones. Thankfully during this year’s Fashion Week for the presentation of the autumn and winter collections, the designers have incorporated some life into this season.

Black’ n White

Our constant fashion companion is definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, the different kinds of black, grey and white. In every closet you peer into, you’ll eventually find some piece in the color of this family of shadow and light.

I know one piece that I always travel with — a pair of comfortable black leggings. Combine them with a mauve, oversized sweater and a pair of ankle boots and you have got yourself a cozy, cute outfit for the chilly days of fall.

Misty Mauve & Radiant Orchid

Orchids are normally something you would give to your wife/husband on your wedding anniversary. But what you might have not known is that this delicate and graceful flower represents love, luxury, beauty and strength — everything that a modern women, carries within.

To show off the strength and beauty that lies within you, you could combine a sweet boysenberry colored dress with a brown, knitted cardigan and dark grey, knee high boots.

Ocean Life

In psychology, the ocean is a universal dream symbol and carries the meaning of Mother.  It’s a home to so many different animals and protector of all the species yet to be discovered by mankind.

For the more edgy type of girls that don’t want to look to tough, I could recommend a navy blue leather jacket with ripped denim boyfriend jeans, paired with a light gray sweater and to finish of this look, don’t forget your black, hightop Converse shoes.

Passionate Red

Red is definitely a noteworthy shade when talking about upcoming fashion trends. There are a lot of pieces that introduce this shade, but what connects them is the feminine sassiness that they are meant to create.

To create your own sassiness you could wear a high-waisted, bordeauxred skirt with a tucked-in white top, a dark gray cardigan and white hightop Chucks.

Golden Glory

Now on to my favorite part of this color palette – the earth tones. These warm neutrals are so easily combined with any other shade out of this years color palette.

What always looks good is a warm, light brown sweater with a light blue, denim jeans and a delicate gold necklace.

Man sieht sie überall. Sie vermüllen nicht nur die schöne Postgalerie in Karlsruhe, sondern auch die komplette Karlsruher Innenstadt. Je näher man dem Europaplatz kommt, desto mehr glückliche Menschen kommen einen damit entgegen. Die Rede ist von den braunen Tüten mit der blauen Aufschrift. Auch hier in Deutschland ist der Hype um den irischen Textil-Discounter groß. Doch warum setzt sich deren Konzept gegenüber anderen Textil-Discountern wie KiK, C&A und weiteren so gut durch?

Allein das Motto sagt es aus: Amazing fashion and amazing prices. Die Kleidung von Primark ist oft an bekannte Designer und Markenkleidung angelehnt. Doch wie können sie diese dann so preiswert herstellen? Als Produktionsländer sind Indien, China und Bangladesch genannt, wobei hauptsächlich in  letzterem hergestellt wird. Im Jahre 2008 wurde Primark dann auch von der BBC wegen Kinderarbeit angeprangert. Auf Nachforschungen des Unternehmens stellte sich allerdings heraus, dass der BBC falsche Informationen vorlagen. Trotzdem weißt man, dass die Regierung in Bangladesch den Mindestlohn heruntergesetzt hat, um Hersteller anzulocken. Der Mindestlohn in Bangladesch entspricht nur zu einem Viertel dessen, was eine Familie dort zum Überleben braucht. Doch genau diese geringe Bezahlung ist der Grund, warum der Laden, der in GB auch Penneys genannt wird, so beliebt sein kann. Die Jugendlichen investieren ihr Geld lieber in zehn sehr preiswerte Kleidungstücke von Primark als in drei oder vier von normalen Geschäften.

Werfen wir einen Blick auf die Geschichte von Primark als Unternehmen. Der Hauptsitz der Firma befindet sich in Dublin. Primark ist ein Tochterunternehmen des britischen Lebensmittelkonzerns Associated British Foods (ABF).  Es wird von der Weston-Familie über Wittington-Investments kontrolliert. Das Unternehmen macht jedes Jahr einen Umsatz von mehreren Milliarden Euros. Es wurde 1969 gegründet und hat inzwischen 256 Filialen weltweit.

Man kann sagen, dass sich Primark unter den Textil-Discountern einen soliden Standpunkt erreicht hat und die Rolle von H&M ersetzen könnte, da sie in der Massenabfertigung überlegen sind. Die Kleider lassen sich wie bei H&M vielleicht nicht mehr als ein paar dutzend Male anziehen, sind dafür aber billiger und von Jugendlichen auch als modischer angesehen.
